EVALUATION:
Evaluations are held by appointment. This can take about an hour. We will sit down and discuss your application and answer any questions you may have at that time. Taking your dog for a walk with a prospective play mate from camp also gives us a good idea of your dogs personality, and match up potential. You will also have a chance to see all environments that we use here at The K9 Advantage.
What we look for in Potential campers:
-appropriate friendly dog behavior
-ability to be away from owners for a period of time
– a reliable emergency contact
- healthy
- adult dogs must be spayed/nuetered
- current on all vaccines
- age appropriate
If for some reason your dog is not a good fit for camp, I will suggest alternative options for you to pursue. Our environment is not ideal for all dogs.
If your dog is accepted into camp, there spot is not permanent. Camp is a teaching tool to help your dog gain some skills to use in the real world. A pre-school before kindergarten if you will. New campers do 2 days a week minimum, and work their way down to once a week for maintenance and socialization.
On the day of your evaluation we will schedule your pups future visits. ( so bring your calender)
